GSA Gets New Chief of Staff

04/29/10 02:07 PM

Michael Robertson is the new chief of staff at the General Services Administration. He has been GSA’s associate administrator of government-wide policy and the chief acquisition officer since August 2009.

Robertson says GSA has an opportunity to improve service to its customers and advance Pres. Barack Obama’s priorities for improving government through open government and citizen engagement and responsible acquisitions. He will work with agencies and the White House on sustainability, open government, Recovery Act implementation and acquisitions.

Robertson has worked with GSA since early 2009. In his previous capacity, he helped develop contracting policies, manage the acquisition workforce and oversee internal operations.

He succeeds Danielle Germain, who stepped down in January, less than a year after she was appointed. His replacement as associate administrator for the General Services Administration’s office of Government-Wide Policy is Kathleen Turco.
