Training Budgets Decrease Overall

09/19/09 11:12 PM

Earlier this year, The Masie Institute conducted a survey of more than 500 organizations from around the world. Based on results, overall learning budgets have decreased in the past year.

Only 2 percent of respondents report a substantial increase in budgets, and just 10 percent report a moderate increase.
Other responses:
>> 25% “stayed the same”
>> 41% “decreased moderately”
>> 21% “decreased substantially”

The “Learning Resources Barometer #1” survey also tracks increased use of social learning, user content and competency management. It reports a severe reduction in budgets for employee travel for learning. The complete results includes data on learning staffing, spending, learning format shifts as well as other impacts of the economy. Access the free results at: www.masie.com/barometer.
